"Additionally, it is stated that local governments may not order 'Houses of Worship' to close in the first place.
With that being said, it is encouraged that 'Houses of Worship' conduct as many activities as possible remotely, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. When providing services in person, places of worship are also encouraged to follow federal guidelines.
Some ways that the governor suggests 'Houses of Worship' help stop the spread of the virus is as follows:

* Encourage all attendees who are 65 and above to stay home and watch the services online, or provide a “senior service” exclusively for attendees 65 and above to attend in person.
* Ask all attendees who have an underlying at-risk health condition to stay home and watch the services online.
* Equip ushers and greeters with gloves and masks.
* Consider keeping child care closed, unless the house of worship can comply with CDC guidelines for child care facilities.
* Ensure all attendees sanitize their hands and put on a mask before entering the building.
* Ensure attendees sit with their family unit, use social distancing between each unit, and, if necessary, add more service times to facilitate distancing.
* Clergy should dismiss attendees by the family unit, maintaining social distancing.
* Staff should sanitize seats and frequently touched surfaces between services.
* Consider refraining from passing collection plates and instead provide a central collection box in the building or encourage online giving.
* Consider how the sacraments can be administered without attendees having to touch the same surfaces and objects."

WHAT TO WEAR: Comfortable Clothes. We are more concerned about what's inside than how you dress. Most people wear jeans and a nice shirt or slacks and a blouse. Some members wear ties or dresses.

LOCATION: Christian Fellowship Church is located in Harlingen, TX off of Loop 499 between 7th Street and 13th Street across from Lee Means Elementary School. (For Google Maps use this link)

What to Expect

Coffee- We have a Self-Serve coffee bar in the south lobby before service. There are tables to sit at and friendly people to meet. You are welcome to come a little early. Fellowship Cafe opens at 8:30 am.

Friendly- Our middle name is Fellowship. We enjoy sharing life together. When you walk into the building, smiling greeters will be there to welcome you, shake your hand and answer any questions you may have.

Music- Praise and Worship is a huge part of what we do at Christian Fellowship Church. It's in our DNA. God loves and enjoys when we sing songs to Him and about Him. We take time every Sunday to express truth about God through music.

The Bible- The Bible is the Word of God and the basis of everything we believe. We learn more about God's thoughts and ways through His Word. We spend time looking into God's ways through stories, examples and scriptures.

Announcements- Being connected with what's happening is important, so we usually highlight some important announcements each week.

Giving- We are a giving church. We support many missionaries, men and women of God, and causes through out the world. Many of those who attend our church have made a decision to support CFC financially. We receive tithe and offerings each week, but hold no expectation for our guests to give.
